THE MIND
BEHIND
THE BOUNCE.

Slugwurf is Dia Moss, a 19-year-old producer and DJ from Columbus, Ohio. He works across jerk, trap, experimental hip-hop, and melodic rap, with a sound built around infectious melodies and an unmistakable bounce. His catalog brings together artists with different voices, from Flo Milli to RhyRhy and Slimesanti.

The records

MADE TO
STICK.

He landed his first major placement a week after graduating in 2025: Flo Milli's 'Perfect Person' featuring Coop. In early 2026, his production on Slimesanti's 'Friendzone :(' traveled across Latin America and Spain, reaching No. 1 on Spotify's Viral 50 in Argentina and appearing on viral charts in 10 markets. That international run came only months before another record began finding a much larger audience.

RhyRhy's 'Summer Bummer (Lights On)' went on to spend more than three weeks at No. 1 on TikTok U.S. By October 13, 2026, it had passed 15 million Spotify streams and been used in 8.9 million TikTok creations. Alongside those records, Slugwurf's credits include work with Oopsy, FattMack, and Lil Chika. The songs sound different from one another, but rhythm and melody remain central to his production.

The daily work

ONE SESSION
AT A TIME.

Long before those placements, he was a drummer. At 10, he heard about Malcolm Gladwell's 10,000-hour concept and set himself on that path. Hours of daily music work became a habit. That steady practice continued as he moved into making beats, learning production, and developing the sound heard across his records today.

He studied audio production in a concentrated two-year high-school program while building a YouTube channel and starting to DJ professionally. By graduation, the channel had more than 10,000 subscribers. Prom nights, homecomings, and other events gave him another way to work with music and hear how people responded to it outside the studio. He chose to pursue music full-time rather than attend college.

That consistency still shapes his days. He continues to make beats, work on records, and DJ select events. Production and DJing give him different ways to follow the same instincts: a melody worth returning to, drums that move, and room for an artist to bring their own personality. The catalog keeps growing through that daily work.
